Garden Route
The Garden Route lies between the Outeniqua Mountains, the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the Indian Ocean. The Main Route starts in Mossel Bay in the Western Cape and ends in Tsitsikamma in the Eastern Cape. Some stretch the Garden Route to Jeffrey's Bay and Port Elizabeth
The Garden Route is one of the most beautiful regions of South Africa with pristine beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers, kloofs and forests.
In the first section between Mossel Bay and George are small villages such as Groot Brakriver, Glentana and Heroldsbaai. In George is a domestic airport, with daily flights from and to Johannesburg and weekly Cape Town.
Further comes the coastal villages Wilderness, Sedgefield, Buffels Bay, the lagoon town of Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Nature Valley, followed by the Tsitsikamma Forest and the little village Stormsriver.
The last section runs along the coast lint to Cape St. Francis and the village of St. Francis Bay.
